Confirmation of visit dates

When you are formally invited to participate in an IAS program, an official invitation letter with detailed program information will be issued to you by mail. Please confirm with us your attendance in our program at your earliest convenience.

We may provide you with a daily honorarium during your visit and/ or a non-accountable travel allowance to help defray your costs of traveling to Hong Kong. The honorarium is used to subsidize your local expenses, including but not limited to local transportation, meal costs and accommodation.

To arrange reimbursement of your honorarium and/or allowance, please confirm with us your visit dates by providing a copy of your itinerary at least 3 weeks before your arrival. Your itinerary will serve as the confirmation of the period of participation in our program.

In the event any changes are to be made to your visiting plan or information provided, please inform us at least 3 weeks before the commencement of the program. Late changes may lead to delay in payment/reimbursement.

Payment Methods

Cash Cheque in HK dollars
Unless otherwise specified, a cash cheque under your passport name with a lump sum of your non-accountable travel allowance and/or your honorarium will be issued to you in Hong Kong dollars. You can go to designated banks in Hong Kong to clear the cheque.
If your stay is shorter than one month, payments will generally be arranged within 1 week of your departure.
If your stay is longer than one month, payments will normally be made on a monthly basis.

Cheque / Bank draft in other currencies
A cheque in US dollars can be issued to you upon request. Should you prefer other currencies, a bank draft can also be issued to you. You can deposit the cheque / bank draft to your bank account when you return to your home country. Please note a service fee may be charged by your local bank.
Please note a longer lead time is required for issuing bank drafts. Please confirm your preferred payment method with our office
at the soonest possible time.

Wire Transfer
Upon request, a wire transfer can be arranged to your designated bank account. Please inform us two weeks before your arrival and provide the following information to us for arrangement.
1. Preferred currency to be received
2. Your bank / branch name
3. SWIFT code or BIC code
4. Bank address
5. Type of account
6. Bank account number
7. Your name as registered in your bank account
Please note that a service fee will be incurred and deducted from your payment.
