Dr Xiongjun Liu received his Bachelor degree in physics from Nankai University and Master's degree from S.S. Chern Institute of Mathematics in 2005, and then he worked as a Research Fellow (B) of Physics in National University of Singapore from 2005 to 2007. After receiving his PhD from Texas A&M University in 2011, Dr Liu worked as a postdoctoral reseach associate in Joint Quantum Institute and Condensed Matter Theory Center, University of Maryland. He has authored and co-authored over 20 papers in Phys. Rev. Lett., Phys. Rev. B and Phys. Rev. A, etc. His current research interest includes: (1) Condensed Matter Theory, focused on topological superconductor, topological insulator, and semiconductor spintronics; (2) Cold atoms, focused on the simulation of topological states, spin-orbit coupling effects, and many-body states with cold fermions.
Dr Liu works with Prof Tai-Kai Ng and Prof Vic Law at Department of Physics, HKUST, and works with Prof Patrick Lee at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. |
