Prof John Ellis from King's College London and CERN shares his insights in the language of particle physics on the prospects of finding the answers posed in Paul Gauguin's famous paintings: "What are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going?" He focuses on the Higgs-like particle discovered recently at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. He also has a dialogue with President Tony Chan on the challenges and opportunities that the theoretical physicists are facing.
