The 2018 GRC on Ocean Biogeochemistry will focus on processes that occur at and between marine interfaces. Oral and poster presentations and discussions will address, without being limited to, biogeochemical fluxes between the atmosphere and the ocean; between the surface, intermediate, and deep waters; and between the deep ocean, the seafloor and the sub-seafloor. Socio-economic aspects will also be considered.
The conference will be held on the campus of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), which is situated on the slopes of Clear Water Bay, and offers panoramic views of the sea. The conference participants will be housed at the Conference Lodge on the campus, in air- conditioned rooms with private bathrooms.
The 2018 GRC will be preceded by a Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Ocean Biogeochemistry, open to graduate students and postdocs interested in marine biogeochemistry and related fields. The GRS will provide a forum for early career researchers to present and discuss results from their research in a peer-to-peer setting in advance of the GRC.
