Abstract
D-branes play an important role in both of the theoretical and phenomenological contexts of string theory. In some phenomenological scenarios, for example, their decay process is considered to be crucial to realize the Higgs mechanism, inflation etc. Open string field theory provides a non-perturbative framework for such D-brane dynamics. Since Schnabl's analytic construction of a classical solution for tachyon condensation, considerable analytic results have been obtained in open string field theory. In particular, various analytic solutions such as rolling tachyon solutions (time-dependent solutions) have been constructed and studied. In this talk, I will introduce these recent developments in open string field theory, including some of our own works. I will explain some basic ideas for the construction of analytic solutions and the current status in this field.
