2026年8月25至26日，香港科技大學賽馬會高等研究院和人文學部中國創意寫作項目聯合舉辦「閻連科與世界文學」的國際學術研討會。閻連科是文學界少有的在寫作中不斷求新、求變、力求與世界文學同步的中國作家。本次會議邀請王德威教授和閻連科教授做主題演講，並邀請18位中外學者宣讀論文。我們希望本次學術會議的研究成果有所突破，有別於過往的閻連科研究，並期望各位與會學者從閻連科已經出版與未出版的各種文學作品中，有所新的研究與發現。大會結束後，我們將結集出版中英文論文集。

On 25–26 August 2026, the HKUST Jockey Club Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) and the Chinese Creative Writing Program at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology will co-host the international conference, Yan Lianke and World Literature.

Yan Lianke stands out among contemporary Chinese writers for his persistent pursuit of formal innovation and artistic experimentation, as his literary oeuvre constantly strives to engage in dialogue with world literature. This conference features keynote speeches delivered by Prof. David Der-wei Wang and Prof. Yan Lianke himself, alongside paper presentations from eighteen scholars across China and overseas.

We aim for this conference to yield research breakthroughs that distinguish it from existing scholarship on Yan Lianke. We invite all participating academics to draw fresh insights and original discoveries from both his published and unpublished literary works. Following the conference, a volume of conference proceedings (both in Chinese and English) will be compiled and published.
