Dr Allan Zeman, GBM, GBS, JP
Chairman of Ocean Park Corporation and
Chairman of Lan Kwai Fong Group
Dr Allan Zeman is the Chairman of Lan Kwai Fong Holdings Limited, a major property owner and developer in Hong Kong’s Lan Kwai Fong. Dubbed to be the “Father of Lan Kwai Fong”, Dr Zeman not only successfully developed Lan Kwai Fong into a world class entertainment destination, but also exported the brand to mainland China in recent years. Recent ventures include “Lan Kwai Fong Chengdu” in Sichuan Province, as well as “Mission Hills-Lan Kwai Fong-Haikou” in Hainan Island.
Having lived in Hong Kong for over 40 years, Dr Zeman has been very involved in Government services as well as community activities. Besides being the Chairman of Hong Kong Ocean Park since 2003, he is also a member of the General Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and a Board member of the Star Ferry Company Limited. Dr Zeman
also serves as a Member of the Board of West Kowloon
Cultural District Authority, and the Chairman of its
Performing Arts Committee. He is also a member of the
Commission on Strategic Development and the Food Business
Task Force of Business Facilitation Advisory Committee.
Besides public services, Dr Zeman also serves as Independent Non-Executive Director of Pacific Century Premium Developments Ltd, Sino Land Company Ltd and Tsim Sha Tsui Properties Ltd. He is also the member of the newly form Economic Development Commission Working Group on Convention and Exhibition Industries and Tourism.
Dr Zeman sits on the Board of Wynn Macau where he is the Vice Chairman. He also has luxury residential & resort property developments, under the Andara brand in Phuket Thailand. |

Prof Tony F Chan
President of HKUST
Prof Tony F Chan is the President and Chair Professor in Computer Science & Engineering, and Mathematics at HKUST.
Prior to joining HKUST in September 2009, Prof Chan was Assistant Director
of the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) in charge of the
Mathematical and Physical Sciences Directorate, which is the largest
directorate at NSF, and guided and managed research funding in astronomy,
physics, chemistry, mathematical science, material science, and
multidisciplinary activities. Before this, Prof Chan was a faculty member
at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) from 1986 to 2006,
and Dean of Physical Sciences from 2001 to 2006.
Prof Chan is an expert in mathematical image processing and computer
vision. He has published over 200 refereed papers and is one of the
world's most cited mathematicians. He is also an active member of many
scientific societies, including Fellow of the Society of Industrial and
Applied Mathematics. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the King
Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia,
President's Advisory Council of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science
and Technology (KAIST), Committee of 100, the Selection Committee for the
Shaw Prize in Mathematical Sciences, and the Steering Committee of the
Innovation and Technology Commission of the Hong Kong Government.
Prof Chan received his BS and MS degrees from Caltech and his PhD in
Computer Science from Stanford University. He pursued postdoctoral
research at Caltech, and was a faculty of Computer Science at Yale
University before joining UCLA. |
