Overview

Urban traffic in China and elsewhere is growing faster than road capacity. Consequently, congestion, emissions, and accident rates are increasing. Operators must manage their road network more effectively to maintain mobility and improve safety. Effective management requires reliable traffic measurement.

This workshop will bring together road network operators and planners, representatives of traffic sensing industry, and researchers in traffic management. The objective is to articulate the challenges that operators face, introduce new traffic measurement technologies, and summarize promising short- and long-term approaches to traffic management.

The workshop will be organized in four consecutive sessions, and will be held on the Seminar Room on 2/F, HKUST Jockey Club Institute for Advanced Study, Lo Ka Chung Building, Lee Shau Kee Campus, HKUST. Please click here for more details about the workshop.
