Getting to Hong Kong
Transportation
There is a highly efficient and comprehensive transportation system in Hong Kong which brings you to Hong
Kong easily.
- By airplane
The majority of foreign visitors get to Hong Kong by airplane. Wherever you depart from, you arrive at the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). Please note that there are two terminals at HKIA. To get the most up-to-date flight information, please visit the HKIA website for details.
- By ferry
There are several sea routes for visitors getting to Hong Kong from different ports of Mainland China. Passengers normally arrive at the China (HK) Ferry Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui or the Hong Kong – Macau Ferry Terminal in Sheung Wan.

- By train
If you want to travel from Mainland China to Hong Kong by train, intercity train operated by Mass Transit
Railway (MTR) would be your choice.
Three train routes connect Beijing, Shanghai and some major cites of Guangdong to Hong Kong.

Visa to Enter Hong Kong
Participants are strongly recommended to check for visa requirements from the Hong Kong Immigration Department website before planning your visit. Participant who requires visa to Hong Kong should submit their visa applications directly to the Hong Kong Immigration Department. Please allow sufficient time for visa application prior to your travel.
Travel and Medical Insurance
- Travel and medical insurance, in general, are not provided for our guests or visitors.
- You are strongly advised to arrange your own travel and medical insurance before departing for Hong Kong.
- In case of any medical treatments in local public hospitals, a relatively high fee will be charged to non Hong Kong residents. Please refer to the Hospital Authority's webpage for charges of medical services provided by public hospitals and clinics in Hong Kong.
