王德威，哈佛大學東亞系暨比較文學系Edward C. Henderson講座教授。高等研究院資深訪問學人，中央研究院院士，美國藝術與科學研究院院士。王教授研究方向包括近現代中國與華語文學、比較文學及文學理論。著作包括《眾聲喧嘩》、《小說中國》、《被壓抑的現代性》、《歷史與怪獸》、《後遺民寫作》、《史詩時代的抒情聲音》、《華夷風起：華語語系文學三論》, “The Monster That Is History: History, Violence, and Fictional Writing in Twentieth-century China”, “The Lyrical in Epic Time: Modern Chinese Intellectuals and Artists Through the 1949 Crisis”, “Why Fiction Matters in Contemporary China” 等。
