Overview
Welcome to the joint workshop on Neuroinformatics and Neurobiology.
This series of workshops started sixteen years ago (2000) with the objective of promoting the development of brain science and related fields through collaboration among China, Japan, and Korea. Participants from other countries in the Asia Pacific region are also welcome. The joint workshop is hosted by a member country each year, where invited speakers from each country present their state-of-the-art research results in the field of Neuroinformatics and Neurobiology and discuss their future research plans. Active young scholars also have chances to report their latest research findings. Through frank and stimulating discussions and social activities, NBNI has contributed to exchanging new academic ideas, developing regional collaborative projects, as well as the development of a transnational community of research scientists over the years.
The workshop in 2016 will focus on Deep Learning (DL) and visual information processing. The aim of this workshop is to bring computational and experimental neuroscientists working on the visual system and computer scientists and engineers working on DL together, to discuss their common research interests, exchange academic ideas, and foster the development of both fields.
