Overview
This bilateral workshop aims to bring together senior scientists from Hong Kong and Nanjing in the area of wave functional research, exploring new opportunities to strengthen the collaboration between the two cities in this exciting area of research. The workshop will cover a broad range of topics in metamaterials, photonic and phononic crystals, plasmonics and the manipulation of matter using light and sound. The frequency range of phenomena goes from kHz to optical frequencies. Both cutting edge advances in fundamental research such as topological concepts and PT symmetry and practical applications of immediate impact such as sensors will be discussed. The workshop participants will identify new topics of mutual interest and discuss various modes of collaboration that can take the research in this area to a new level.
